I love making baby blankets as a baby gift. I like to buy a baby outfit and try to find matching fabric to make a cute little baby blanket to go with it. There is so many ways to add your own personal touch and make it special.
Blanket
Materials for making baby blanket:
2 – pieces flannel fabric 1 yard each
Matching thread
- Cut fabrics so it is the same size. Make measurements around 32″ width by 36″ long.
- Place right sides of fabric together and sew around all four corners. Make sure to leave an opening of 5 to 6 inches so that you can flip the blanket right side out.
- When you are done sewing around the edges, cut off the excess fabric. Also cut corners in an angle. Next turn the blanket right side out.
- Iron the blanket and make sure to press all edges so it is flat and even.
- Next hand sew the opening.
- Last step I stitch an decorative stitch around the edges of the blanket.
- You have completed a super easy, soft cute baby blanket. So simple!
